Hyperhidrosis means sweating more than the body needs to regulate its temperature. It often affects the underarms or palms and can interfere with comfort and confidence at work and in daily life.

Botulinum toxin injections are one of the well-studied options for focal hyperhidrosis. They temporarily reduce the activity of sweat glands in the treated area. The strongest evidence is for the underarms, while treatment of the hands may be considered in selected cases depending on your assessment.

Your appointment begins with an assessment of how severe the sweating is, where it occurs, and what you have already tried, such as clinical-strength antiperspirants. If injections are suitable, we explain the steps and what to expect. Injections in the palms may feel more uncomfortable than underarm treatment.

Many people notice reduced sweating within a short time after treatment, but the effect is temporary, varies between individuals, and requires follow-up based on your assessment.

Treatment may not be suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with certain neuromuscular conditions, or with sensitivity to the ingredients. Sweating that affects the whole body may need a medical assessment to look for another cause.
